Predictably, Jennifer grew up on the family farm near Calgary Canada, with horses, and has been passionately studying and painting them since she was 8 years old.

She attended Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, Scotland, and the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary. During her art school years, Jennifer was strongly discouraged from drawing horses so she diversified into textiles, ceramics, and mixed media where she continued to develop her personal sense of composition, texture, colour, and expression.

After having taken 7 years to complete her degree, (as her thirst for travel and adventure had her covering the greater part of the globe for 3 of those years) she graduated with Distinction in 1994 from the Alberta College of Art and Design.

Six years later, during a 7 month trip to Africa with her children, Jennifer discovered an ethereal herd of feral horses in the Namib Desert.  She stayed and drew and observed, and was thrown clearly and irrevocably back into the vision of her first love, freedom, the Horse.

Jennifer is a full time Equine artist.  She is represented by galleries nationally. She is sought after locally, nationally and internationally by horse lovers, private collectors and corporations, and can usually be found in her studio in Calgary.  (403) 399-9226

Yes, she does commissions and can paint your horse. ;)

In the art world, giclee is generally regarded as the highest quality fine art reproduction available.

The term Giclee’, (pronounced zhee-clay), refers to fine art prints created with digital output.  Giclee is the French verb “to spray” (as from a nozzle), and since most digital printers use nozzles to direct ink onto a substrate, the work Giclee is used to distinguish “fine art prints” from those created for non-art or commercial purposes.
